Privacy at Kaalam.

This is the plain-English summary. The formal policy follows the same commitments in more legal language. If you have questions, email privacy@kaalam.app.
What Kaalam collects
- Account: email address and encrypted password. You may optionally add a display name.
- Birth details: date, time, and place of birth — required to compute your chart. Nothing else about your identity is required.
- Chart + reading history: the computed chart and any readings you generate, stored so you can re-open them.
- Product analytics: anonymized page-view and feature-usage events via PostHog, used only to understand which product areas need improvement.
- Billing: handled by our payment processor (RevenueCat / Apple / Google). Kaalam never stores your card details.
What Kaalam does NOT collect
- Your government ID, address, or phone number.
- Contact lists, calendar, camera, or microphone data.
- Health, biometric, or messaging-app data.
- Anything Kaalam doesn't need to serve you.
How Kaalam uses your data
- To compute your chart and generate your readings.
- To personalize your daily Panchang and Muhurta.
- To send transactional email (receipts, trial reminders, security).
- To improve the product through anonymized product analytics.
Kaalam does not sell, share, or rent your data to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.
Your controls
- Delete your account: email privacy@kaalam.app from your account address. All chart data, reading history, and account info are erased within 14 days.
- Export your data: same address — we'll email you a JSON export of everything associated with your account.
- Analytics opt-out: in-app toggle disables product analytics for your account.
Data residency & security
Account and chart data are stored in Supabase (SOC 2 Type 2 certified), with Postgres-level encryption at rest. Billing goes through RevenueCat (SOC 2 Type 2) and Apple / Google. Analytics go through PostHog. Server infrastructure runs on DigitalOcean and Vercel. TLS everywhere in transit.
Children
Kaalam is not designed for or directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
Material changes are announced by email to registered users at least 14 days before taking effect. Non-material clarifications update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
